Day 1: Tyler to Toronto (it takes two to tango)

Varun and Dave both do not sleep the night before. Some say that is the excitement of seeing eachother, others say that it is because one forgot to do laundry and the other needed to clean his room (they would be right).

I (Varun) hopped on a shuttle at 6:45 in the morning to Dallas/Ft. Worth from Tyler under the light trickle of rain droplets. As I approached the city the rain became a torrent and a few drops became sheets of moisture. The cloud coverage was thicker than Dr. Phil’s hillbilly accent. However, 20 miles outside of the city all the rain (and possibilities of major flight delays) seem to cease.

Things that surprised me in the transit from DFW to Toronto:

  • Pearson Int’l Airport in Toronto’s code is YYZ.
  • President Bush managed to blame Asians for Carbon Emission problems.
  • Air Canada is baller. Where else can you get so many movies and shows available on such a short flight? (I failed to finish my viewing of Definitely, Maybe starring Ryan Reynolds.... AHHHHH WHO DOES HE MARRY?!??!!?).

The road trip begins under bad omens as the trip from the airport to Dave’s house is delayed by a dead car battery and inability to take the correct exits.

After a quick stop and tour of Dave’s house for a glass of water and a passive-aggressive (aimed at Dave) dinner invitation from Mama Garver, Dave and Varun see Toronto and head down to College Street and eat a decent Italian Bistro Meal at The Standard, grab a couple drinks at a hipster haunt, and point out eachother’s flaws in a loving manner till they return home tired from the long walks.

Questions brought up: Is prostitution legal in Canada? $30 “nude, oral” from Model Sissiprincess and a full page of Erotic Massage ads in a local paper suggest so (also it seems that Canadians have a thing for "busty Asian girls")

Hahaha... I, too, have experienced the prostitution ads in Toronto. They are entertaining to no end. And the answer to your question is yes. I'm more than slightly afraid of what's going to happen with the three of you in a car for weeks on end...
